Mindfulness

Mindfulness is simply living in the moment. Being fully present to what is.
My journey into living more mindfully has emerged from my practice of yoga. I have learnt to apply what I have learned ‘on the mat’ to all areas of my life. It is an ongoing process. There are 2 key areas that I personally work with and hope to share with my clients.

1, Relaxed Attention

Attention to your current reality. How you are feeling? What are you hearing? What are you looking at? How is your breath? Being more present, more alive and more creative. The future never arrives, the past has gone, now is all there is.

2, Open Acceptance

Holding these experiences as they are without thinking, analyzing or judging them. Fully accepting what is in this moment. Open to new possibilities.

Working with individuals and clients I sometimes follow my 6 week StillWorks Mindfulness Course, and sometimes I create more bespoke sessions.

The StillWorks 6 Week Course covers Sensory Awareness, Controlled Breathing, Guided Relaxation, Visualisation, Gentle Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation.

Mindfulness techniqe uses have been proven in the treatment of pain, stress, anxiety, depression, eating disorders and addiction amongst many others. It has been shown to improve our immune systems

The video below features Jon Kabat-Zinn who has led the widespread adoption of Mindfulness in the medical and corporate worlds. It says it all.
